Description

I am already putting a disclaimer that this special Yeah The Boys episode is going to be an emotional one, as I had my good friend Josh Reid, more fondly known as Reidy, join me in the studio.  6 months ago, Reidy was experiencing pain in his stomach that after stubbornly trying to ignore, he went for what he thought would be a quick visit to the doctors, that landed him in hospital with a suspected burst appendix. From what was going to be a quick surgery and short stay, Reidy was told that it was not a burst appendix but in fact they had found a tumour, that would be sent off for further testing. It was on the 8th day of his time in hospital, as he was getting ready to go home and his beautiful wife Bianca was waiting in the car, that he was told the tumour was cancerous, and he’d be kicking off chemo straight away.  The months that followed were an absolute rollercoaster for him and his beautiful little family. Putting their lives on hold to go through the motions of what cancer can bring. From the physical and emotional, the logistics and how much their day to day lives would change, to extra challenges and curve balls that would be thrown in throughout the process.  Reidy went in with the mentality of ‘whatever it takes, just get it done’ and despite being dealing dealt some pretty heavy cards, he has stuck true to that mindset not only for himself, but his family.  There is strength in vulnerability, and I know I speak on behalf of a lot of people when I say, Joshua Reid you should be so proud. I love you, and I feel so privileged to help share your story.
