In this sermon, we'll explore the theme of faith despite doubt and seemingly insurmountable circumstances. We start with John 20:26-29, where Jesus appears to Thomas after His resurrection. Thomas, initially full of doubt, declares his faith after seeing Jesus' wounds. Jesus blesses those who believe without seeing, challenging us to hold onto faith even when evidence seems lacking.
We’ll connect this idea to Mark 5:36, where Jesus encourages Jairus to believe despite dire news about his daughter. Romans 4:18-21 illustrates Abraham’s unwavering faith in God’s promise, despite the apparent impossibility due to his and Sarah’s advanced age. These scriptures highlight the importance of holding onto faith even when circumstances seem to contradict God's promises.
Hebrews 2:8-9 and Psalms 8:3-6 remind us that while we don't yet see all things subject to humanity, we see Jesus crowned with glory and honor. Through Him, we regain the dominion intended for us. This perspective encourages us to trust in God’s ultimate plan, even when immediate realities seem challenging. We'll discuss how faith can heal broken bodies and restore broken homes, emphasizing that believing "yet" and "still" can lead us to God's fulfilled promises.
