Here in John 1, we find a beautifully poetic riddle. John introduces a theme that we haven’t seen before; “The Word.” This Word: ‘the Logos” is somewhat mysterious. The Word was there at the beginning of creation with God. In fact, the Word was God. In this Word was both life and light. The Word came into the world He created and had His own Herald testify of His coming. John also tells us that the Word became flesh and lived among us. Who is this “Word” and why did He become flesh? This is the question we will explore this Sunday as we come to God’s word.
