Today’s Scripture:
1 Corinthians 16:13 NIV
Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong.
Family, there is something unique about having the stance of being on your guard. No one is on guard if they do not anticipate an attack of some kind. When you are on your guard there is an expectancy that there is an attack that is coming.
Some of us do not see the attack coming, and we are not on our guard. Paul reminds the Corinthians to be on their guard. Do not allow the enemy to catch us unaware. We must always be on guard. We also need to be courageous and strong.
Being on guard means you must have courage and strength. Are you weak today? Do you feel like you do not have what it takes? We want to encourage you today to be strong. James 4:7: “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” When you are on guard, you are watching for the enemy's attack, and you ensure that the areas where he could attack are working on them and ensuring that they are secured.
Jesus told us this to encourage us, John 16:33, “In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.” We are victorious, family, because we are in Christ. He has overcome the world. We know that we are not by ourselves. We are surrounded by Christ. We can stand and be on our guard because Jesus lives inside of us and he has overcome the world so too will we. Be blessed, Family.
