Today’s Scripture:
Genesis 27:39-40 MSG
Isaac said to him, You’ll live far from Earth’s bounty, remote from Heaven’s dew. You’ll live by your sword, hand-to-mouth, and you’ll serve your brother. But when you can’t take it any more you’ll break loose and run free.
In this passage we are jumping into a dialogue between Isaac and Esau concerning the blessing that was stolen from Esau, his birthright blessing stolen by Jacob his brother. The story surrounds Jacob and his mother Rebecca who deceived Isaac into giving Jacob Esau's blessing.
So, once Esau finds out that his birthright, his blessings were stolen by his brother, he pleads with his father for another blessing and this is the secondary blessing his father gave him.
I mean when you miss your blessing you could end up with a curse. And a lot of us think that we are cursed because of the hardships of life, but there's hope. This doesn't sound like a blessing to me at all. It's more like hard labor, it's more like a curse. He says Esau will live a life where he struggles nothing will come easy for him. He will live in subjection to his brother, he will live from hand-to-mouth, or let's make it real in our days, paycheck-to-pay-check!
Somebody today, you must become tired of the imitations, the embargoes, and the frustrations that you're experiencing in your life, and say enough! Isaac said to Esau, when you can't take it anymore! You will break loose and run free. Family, it's time to break loose and run free! Stop living hand-to-mouth! Paycheck -paycheck!
Family, today you must break loose and run free! Break the pattern of failure, break the cycle of delay, break the stagnation in your life! Break out today and run free in the name of Jesus!
