God's word comes to us from one of those familiar passages: Joshua is now taking over from the servant of the Lord, Moses. The Lord says in the first few verses of Joshua 1 that Moses, my servant, is dead, and now Joshua is your time to lead my people. This was a time of transition from one leader to another, but this wasn't just any leader; this was Moses, whom God spoke to Face to Face... Moses, the mighty man of God.
Joshua and the children of Israel are uncertain about moving forward in their journey to the Promised Land. And I can tell you transitions are not easy; when we deal with changes, there are uncertainties ahead of us in our lives. Will it work out? Will I make it? How will this work? Can I do that? Can we afford this? Where will I get this? I mean, the list goes on and on.
So, how do you deal with uncertainty?
You acknowledge your limitations, lay down your expectations, and pick up God’s declarations.
Thankfully, no matter how uncertain you may feel, the outcome of every situation is known to God. Not only does God know, but He promises never to leave or forsake those who draw near to Him. Tell Uncertainty, You are not alone. And your future is held in God's hands.
God's with me and you in uncertainty, and He's ahead of us.
