Today’s Scripture: ‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬

‭‭‭‭‭‭‭‭‭‭‭‭‭‭‭‭Luke 18:1 KJV‬‬

And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;

An article in The Washington Post talked about a 15-year-old girl who sent and received 6,473 text messages in a single month.

Let that sink in for a moment.

She says about her constant communication with friends, “I would die without it.” And she is not alone. Many are in this situation; I've read multiple articles in the NY Times talking about this very issue. I wondered if we would pray like this, the way we text, and most of us have text messages or send them, whether in response or for inquiries. If we would pray like this, we will have great results in our lives.

Today, we see this constant communication happening between friends and family. Texting is a huge part of our communication. And I'm a texter, too, family; it’s easier for me most of the time to send a quick text than to be on the phone because I'm always on the move. But the truth is, Most would literally die without it.

Prayer is work, and it's hard work. It makes us tired, and it can be grueling on the person because of the energy that is exerted when we pray. Jesus did not only tell his disciples this truth that men must always pray and not faint, but he would, later on, demonstrate it for them in chapter 22, the Bible says, "And being in an agony, he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground." ‭‭Luke 22:44 KJV‬‬.

Jesus prayed until he prayed; that's earnest prayer, and that's the kind of prayer that God responds to. Just like our love for texting and our consistency in doing it. We must be passionate about our prayer life and in seeking the face of God. Paul, the Apostle, knew this quite well and wrote to the Thessalonians, "Pray continually," or another version says to pray without ceasing." 1 Thessalonians 5:17 NIV.

Most of us, if we are honest, find it hard to pray like that. Continually in the face of God. But this is what's required; we cannot stop praying. We refuse to stop believing. Researchers say that 90 percent of people worldwide text at least once per day, and more than 350 billion text messages are sent each month. Imagine giving God this type of attention in our communication with him. Don't stop praying, family; keep on believing. God hears, and he answers prayers.
