Today’s Scripture:
Daniel 10:2-3 KJV
[2] In those days I Daniel was mourning three full weeks. [3] I ate no pleasant bread, neither came flesh nor wine in my mouth, neither did I anoint myself at all, till three whole weeks were fulfilled.
Never stop praying. Prayer is our communication with God and the answer to all of life's problems. When we face challenges, hardships, and impossible situations, prayer is essential, and it is the key to our deliverance. Daniel, in our text, prayed and fasted for 3 weeks or 21 days. He was in mourning for Jerusalem and those in captivity, and he cried out in prayer to God for answers. He did not stop. He remained consistent. Daniel could have stopped, and I mean I've been there when I'm praying and seeing no results.
But I have come to realize that prayer is not about seeing something in response to my prayer, but it’s about having faith and trust in God to know that what I'm bringing before him is already resolved, but I must stay before him until it is manifested.
Let us give God more attention than we give to our texting, problems, and pain. Put God back in his rightful place as Lord over us and over everything concerning us. Jesus reminds his disciples of the importance of praying: "Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.” Matthew 26:41 NIV.
Could we be yielding to temptations because of the lack of prayer in our lives? Jesus said to watch and pray, and you will not fall into temptation. That's serious. We do well to pray so that we will have no desires for the fruits of temptation. Remember Eve?
Another thing we must see here is that prayer prepares us for our testing; it prepares us for the challenges that lie ahead. Jesus, after this time, says let's go, here comes my betrayer, talking about Judas. Prayer equipped him for this moment. Family, don't stop praying. Keep on believing! God wants to hear from you and is waiting to respond to your prayers.
