Today’s Scripture:
1 Chronicles 16:11 NIV
Look to the Lord and his strength; seek his face always.
2 Chronicles 26:5 KJV
And he sought God in the days of Zechariah, who had understanding in the visions of God: and as long as he sought the LORD, God made him to prosper.
Consistent prayer requires always looking to the Lord, always seeking the Lord, and always calling upon him. It is one thing to say that we want to have a better prayer life and hear from God, but it's another thing to actually put in the work required to hear from God and seek him. God responds to those who are in a relationship with him. When we are in a relationship with someone, we want to hear from them at all times. We call text, DM, and hang out with them.
I can remember my wife and I talking for hours on the phone because we love each other and want to be with each other, which caused us to want to hear each other because we longed for each other's presence. So, when we were not together, it was essentially to talk and hear from each other and say the things that people who are married say to each other when they love each other.
It is no different with God. He wants to hear from us and hang out with us, but if we do not show up, pray, and seek him, we tell him he's unimportant and the relationship doesn't matter. So, we can pray but won't hear from him because there's nothing to build on. No prayers were sent up before now, and now you have a need.
You must have sweat equity, prayer sweat equity with God. It's called consistent prayer. Then, the second scripture tells us that "as long as Uzziah sought the Lord, God made him prosper." There's a pattern here when it comes to consistency in prayer. When we say Don't Stop Praying/ Keep on Believing, we are saying that you must follow the pattern outlined in Scripture, seek the Lord always, for as long as you live so that you will have a prayer life that God responds to.
It's time to pray family without ceasing, don't stop praying requires commitment, dedication, and action. Today, I pray that your appetite is stirred and that your desire to pray is lit. God is waiting for you to come to him, not when things are wrong but because he is God and you are in a relationship. Will you connect with your God today in prayer and for the rest of your life? If so, you will see great results, and you will prosper.
