Today’s Scripture:
Esther 2:17 NIV
Now the king was attracted to Esther more than to any of the other women, and she won his favor and approval more than any of the other virgins. So he set a royal crown on her head and made her queen instead of Vashti.
The story of Esther centers around her life, a young Jewish girl, who becomes queen of Persia and plays a crucial role in saving her people from annihilation. The King of Persia decided to choose a new wife after dismissing the Queen, whose name was Vashti. Esther, an orphan raised by her cousin Mordecai, is among the candidates and eventually becomes the new queen.
Esther won the favor of everyone who saw her. Why? Because favor was upon her life. The Bible says Vashti was beautiful to look at, but it never said that she was favored. Every wondered why some people are more blessed than others? Get the things that some who are more qualified, more beautiful, don't get? It's called favor.
In our text the Bible says, Now the king was attracted to Esther more than to any of the other women, and she won his favor and approval more than any of the other virgins. So he set a royal crown on her head and made her queen instead of Vashti. Favor will take a person from the bottom to the top. Favor will save a city and avert a national disaster.
You see, favor is attractive. It attracts what you need into your life. Favor caused her to be noticed by the king. Favor will cause you to be noticed. It will attract the right people into your life. Favor is God's mercy. When you have favor, God shows you mercy. The Bible says Esther won the king's favor and approval more than any other Virgin. They were all virgins, but Esther was the one with favor.
The Bible says, So he set a royal crown on her head and made her queen instead of Vashti. Listen, the favor will always elevate you. Esther was elevated above all the others. When you have favor, it is unmistakable; it will always cause you to stand out. If you are not experiencing this favor grace, you must ask God for favor. Jesus had it; the Bible says he grew in wisdom, stature, and favor with God and man (Luke 2:52).
When people see you and me, they must see people who walk in divine favor, grace, and mercy. We are favored. Let's remember that we are not the least favored, but we are favored—the head only, not the tail, on top only, and never at the bottom. You are favored. Walk in it and live in the abundance of God's grace.
