Today’s Scripture:
1 Chronicles 4:10 NIV
Jabez cried out to the God of Israel, “Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let your hand be with me, and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain.” And God granted his request.
We've been talking about Jabez and his prayer. Today, we see Jabez being favored with more because he was chosen and made for more. You too are chosen and make for more. The Bible said Jabez cried out to the Lord and said, "let your hand be with me" that's after asking God to bless him, to enlarge his territory. Now he says let your hand be with me. In other words, Jabez asked God to favor him. To prosper him in every way. Financially, spiritually, physically, and socially.
He's saying whatever I do, Lord, make it prosper. And the Bible says in Psalm 1 whatsoever the righteous do shall prosper. That's favor. When God favors a man or woman, he prospers them, and the evidence is clear that the hand of the Lord is upon that person. What do we always say when we see someone blessed and prosperous? We say the hand of the Lord is upon that person. That's what Jabez was saying to the Lord. Prosper me in every area of my life.
Oh Lord, let your hand be with me. When the hand of the Lord is with you, everything you do begins to prosper. The hand of the Lord was upon Joseph, and the Bible said whatsoever Joseph did prospered, why? The Lord was with him, or the hand of the Lord was upon him. God wants to prosper you. He loves when you prosper, as a matter of fact he says, I wish above all that you would prosper and be in good health even as your soul prospers. It's not enough to prosper in one area and not another. That's not favor. The favor of the Lord prospers us in every area.
Jabez's prayer was strategic and intentional, he did not leave out anything because he was a man that was born for more, even when they try to label him and say, pain, sorrow, no good, poor, and evil, he comes back and say Lord let your hand be with me. Favor me above all else.
God wants to favor you family, tell him to let his hand be with you, as he was with Joseph, David, Abraham, Jacob, and Jabez, may he cause his hand to be with you also. You are favored for more.
