Today’s Scripture:
1 Chronicles 4:10 NIV
Jabez cried out to the God of Israel, “Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let your hand be with me, and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain.” And God granted his request.
When you are fit for more, you must take a licking and keep believing! More requires stamina, grit, fight, and consistency. Stamina is required to accomplish the goals that propels us to more. No one on the planet knows that they were made for more and is not challenged with maintaining the stamina needed to overcome the challenges they face.
Jabez could have given up and decide to fold and say well this is my plot; this is how things were meant to be. Or the usual, my mother never loved me, or my daddy didn't want me. These are harsh realities, but nonetheless, they are stamina killers; they suck energy from us when we give into them.
We must dare to dream and call upon the Lord.
When we want more, it will take an audacious audacity to ask for what they say we could not have. What we ourselves believe is that we are not worthy of more. One of the things that we must overcome is unworthiness. We cannot expect more and simultaneously believe that we are not worthy of more. If that's the case, more will never come.
To be fit for more, you have to have grit, and you must fight. Fight the lies that say you are nothing. Fight the lies in your head that say everyone else deserves it but not you. Resist the urge to have self-pity. God is ready and willing to bless you, but you must place a demand on God.
When he asked for a blessing, he told God, change my story. Rewrite my story. What they said about me Lord I know you can change it. Oh Lord bless me indeed. To be fit for more, you must stand against all odds, the lies in your mind, the chatter in your mind. Tell yourself I'm coming up out of Lodebar, a place of lack and destitution and I'm coming for more. Here's the thing: God's got more for all of us. He can do more than we could ask or imagine. But we must place a demand on him for more to flow. As long as a demand is placed on him, more will flow to us as it did with Jabez.
You are fit for more when you endure everything telling you you don't deserve it and are not meant to have it. When you fight those thoughts off, you will begin to see the manifestations of God's blessings in your life.
