Today’s Scripture:
Revelation 3:20 NKJV
Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.
We often hear it said that we desire God. We long for God. We yearn for God. We are also told to pursue God. But have you ever stopped and thought about the fact that God desires you? That he's in pursuit of you! That God longs for you! and he wants to be with you?
Yes, he does!
That's so beautiful to know that God, the creator of the heavens and the earth, wants to be with us. He comes looking for us with excitement and desire. God longs to be with you. Therefore, he stands at the door and knocks. This word door in the text can be translated as heart. God is saying if you open your heart to me, I will come in and have fellowship with you, and you will have fellowship with me. It's to accept Christ's salvation by opening our doors and hearts and welcoming him in.
He's in love with you. He loves us and wants to be around us. And he is knocking at our heart's door. Will you let him in today?
The truth according to John 15:16 KJV is that we did not choose God. He chose us. It says, "Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you..." God desired you; he chose you before you chose him. That's how deep his love goes for us, a love that cherishes and values us. May we love him back. May we walk with this understanding and desire God in all our ways as he desires and pursues us.
