Hope is the essence of life. It is said that without hope, there is no point in living. The Bible says Now Faith is the substance of things Hoped for... the evidence of things not seen (Heb. 11:1) Though we do not see it, we hope for it through Faith. In our text it says, "May the hope of God fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him", so trusting in him is also waiting on him, and faith is the substance of things Hoped for the evidence of what we do not see...
Paul says, "For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what they already have? But if we hope for what we
do not yet have, we wait for it patiently." Romans 8:24-25 NIV. Therefore, hope and patience works together to bring us that which we have Faith in God that he will bring it to pass. Without this hope, we are done, we give up, and we take our lives (literally). That is why so many commit suicide, and that is why so many give up because of a lack of Hope.
It is hope that pulls faith; without hope, everything would stop. Fyodor Dostoevsky writes, "To live without hope is to cease to live" It is profoundly true, that a person without hope usually ceases to exist or live because there's nothing to look forward to, or there's nothing that person is waiting on. Don't let the enemy of our souls steal our hope today, family, because this hope in God gives us all joy, peace, and overflowing hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. (Rom. 15:13)
This was when David was depressed and sad and almost at the end of his ropes. He spoke to himself and told himself to have Hope in God, not in his strength or power, because God is the one thing that remains after everything gives way, and he is our Hope. Family, Hope in God today.
