Today’s Scripture:
1 John 4:4 KJV
Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.
Family, I'm not that good! Truth be told, we are not that good. On any given day some people are better and more qualified than we are, but why are we the ones being used? We're not that good! So what is it that causes us to be good at what we do?
The Bible says, greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world! Why, we are of God! We have overcome because the greater one lives inside of me. It's not me that's great, greater is the one in me. I'm not that good. But the God inside of me he's the greatness inside of me. He's the good one. God is good and he makes me good. You are not that good, but God has gifted you with what you need for your assignment in this life.
God has gifted us with the Holy Spirit which empowers us to overcome the challenges of this world. Family, when we understand this and have this mindset, this perspective, we are humbled that God would even consider us and make us great in the sight of men. The truth is, we all have flaws, and weaknesses, we fall short of what God desires for us and from us. It's truly humbling to know that we are not that good, we are not that great, we have limitations, but we can bring our limitations to God and he can make greatness out of them.
You were created for greatness, you may not feel great, but God has placed greatness within you for his purpose to be accomplished in and through you. It's not about being great by the definition or standards of the world but it's about fulfilling God's design for your life. Family, I confess, I'm not that good, but God is great.
