Today’s Scripture:
Luke 15:17-20 NIV
“When he came to his senses, he said, ‘How many of my father’s hired servants have food to spare, and here I am starving to death! I will set out and go back to my father and say to him: Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son; make me like one of your hired servants.’ So he got up and went to his father. “But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion for him; he ran to his son, threw his arms around him and kissed him.
We can all find ourselves in this story because we all want to do things our own way. This young man wanted to live his own life, provide for himself, live without his father's rules, and be away from his father’s care.
He was given the green light by his father, and he is living the life that he wanted to live because he had money. But there was a point when this young man spent all the money he had and was in a desperate situation, to the point of almost eating the food the pigs were eating. He had a reality check and decided to take a chance and go back to his father. He practiced his repentance and decided that he would go back to his father.
He got up and went to his father. It is not an easy thing to do. It is hard to get up and go back to your father, but God is calling you, and he loves you. And yes, it is not easy for you to come back to him, pride, fear, worried, but Jesus loves you. He wants you and here it something, you belong to him. It takes a lot to come back to Christ, but He still loves you, he wants you and he is waiting for you. Jesus loves you.
Come back to the Father. He is waiting for you with open arms. Come, he is there with you, and he is looking and cheering for you. Like this Father, Jesus is waiting. When you make the decision, he will wrap his arms around you and bring you back into a relationship with him.
Jesus Loves You. It is not over for you. Swallow your Pride and Come; he loves you.
