Today’s Scripture:
Hebrews 8:12 NIV
“For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more.”
God loves you! How does that make you feel? Do you feel guilty when you hear that, or are you excited when you hear that? The truth is that many of us walk around with guilt because of our past sins. But you cannot cause God to love you any more than he already does.
But here's the thing. You are responsible for how pleased God is with you! (John Bevere)
So, then the question becomes, is my life pleasing to God instead of walking around feeling guilty and unloved by God when God has already forgiven you of all your confessed sins?
If you've confessed your sins and asked for forgiveness, God will declare you not guilty (Romans 10:9). You are free from those sins you've confessed. He said if you confess with your mouth and believe in your heart, you shall be saved. That confession is of your sin and denouncing allegiance to the enemy. Then, that saving grace is the washing away of your sins. You are not guilty.
Family, you must believe that your past is behind you and that your God is before you. He will not hold you guilty, but the enemy of your soul wants us to remain in a state of guilt and shame. I encourage us to hold our heads up, remove the shame and the guilt, and walk in true freedom, which is found in the redemption of the cross of Jesus Christ. You are not guilty.
