Today’s Scripture:
John 6:70-71
Then Jesus replied, “Have I not chosen you, the Twelve? Yet one of you is a devil!” (He meant Judas, the son of Simon Iscariot, who, though one of the Twelve, was later to betray him.)
Judas was picked on purpose. Judas being picked as a disciple was intentional, it was for Jesus' elevation. He meant more to Jesus becoming what he was meant to be then any other disciple. He was picked on purpose so that Scriptures would be fulfilled. Without Judas there would be no cross, there would be no resurrection, there would be no power, there would be no removal of sin. Judas was integral to Jesus' destiny!
Being picked or being called doesn't mean that you are Righteous, it doesn't mean you are a believer, there are some wolves in sheep's clothing in our midst and we need discernment to not let our guards down against them. Jesus never let his guard down against Judas. He knew who he was and that he had purpose and his purpose was tied to him.
Like Judas, you were Picked on purpose so that God would be glorified on the earth in you. Just like Judas first into the plans of God, you also fit in God's plan, not to betray Christ, but to make him known to all men. It can be scary to know that Judas was with Jesus, saw the miracles, heard him teach, saw the dead raised, and he himself not be converted. There are those among us who speak in tongues but are not born again because the enemy can also speak in tongues.
Judas was part of God's sovereign plan, to bring about the death of Christ so that prophecy would be fulfilled. You are picked on purpose so that Christ would be glorified on the earth and that others would come to know him as Lord and Savior. Do not be like those who are in the kingdom but are far from Christ. You have a purpose, walk in it and fulfill your call to win the lost, that is your purpose.
