Description

When we are walking through life, there will be dark days. Fearful situations and traumatic experiences cause us to wonder if this is all life offers us. However, there's something else going on while we're dealing with these different situations we face. Yes, it's a tough place to be, but when walking through the valley of the shadow of death or the darkest valleys, we are in a very precarious and unique position. God's preparing us for something greater.

David said, "Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me;" David's posture while he's walking through the valley of the shadow of death is to remind himself that God is with him, and because he knows this, he will fear no evil. The valley is fearful and scary, but remind yourself that God is with you. Remove the fear factor, and you see God preparing you for something greater.

What's God preparing you for in this season?

Here's the thing: if he never prepares us in the valley, we will never get to the mountaintop. We all want to get to the mountaintop; that's where we sense that we've accomplished our most extraordinary feet. But there's no mountaintop experience in the valley and the darkness.

Valleys are where we develop, it is where we are made, it's where we learn to trust God, it's where we see God in a different light. That's where we are broken to be mended, the processing center for greatness. Lean into it, family; this is preparation season.
