Today’s Scripture:
Deuteronomy 6:10-12 NIV
When the Lord your God brings you into the land he swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, to give you—a land with large, flourishing cities you did not build, houses filled with all kinds of good things you did not provide, wells you did not dig, and vineyards and olive groves you did not plant—then when you eat and are satisfied, be careful that you do not forget the Lord, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery.
These verses are spoken to the Israelites as they are on the verge of entering Canaan, the land God promised to their ancestors. This was to remind them that God had delivered them from slavery in Egypt and had been guiding and providing for them throughout their journey.
God's been providing for them throughout their journey. Family, as you journey with God, it is important to pause and do inventory, and see how God has been providing for you all the way, every step. You need to thank him, praise him, and remember his goodness. To forget is to be unthankful, to forget is to sin against God's Provision and his grace and mercy towards us.
A thankless person is a forgetful person and that's a person who God can never bless. So, he says, remember, remember God's goodness. Family, we must remember God's Provision and that all that we have comes from God. I don't care what it is. All that we have comes from God. He said to the Israelites, land with large, flourishing cities you did not build, houses filled with all kinds of good things you did not provide... He reminds them of what God has done and provokes them to be grateful.
We must remember God's Provision today and always. God bless you, family.
