Ephesians 4:29 GW
Don’t say anything that would hurt ⌞another person⌟. Instead, speak only what is good so that you can give help wherever it is needed. That way, what you say will help those who hear you.
Words are powerful!
They can change lives. Change nations. Change the world. Jesus is the living word. But we also have the written word. Words are powerful, when we speak it has the ability to bring about change. It brings forth life or death. Jesus said, the words I speak they are spirit and they are life. So, words carry a spirit, and they carry life. He says the words I speak. That means there are other words that are spoken by others, and those words can bring death.
What are you saying? Are you gossiping and slandering others? Such words bring death. When we use our ability to speak to bring others down, it is not of God. Why? Because his words bring life. It edifies and brings peace, hope, and strength.
He is the Word, the living Word. We have the word in us, and we speak the word so that life can flow out of us and toward others. So, it is our responsibility to avoid wasteful chatter, gossip, and speak life into the life of others so that they too might have life and speak life into others. It's called the great commission, to go into all the words and preach the gospel. In other words, Go and speak, and the words you speak will bring life to those who hear you.
May we become those who will speak truth to those we encounter. Jesus is the word; he is the way, the truth, and the life. Every day, you have a great opportunity to speak and share your words with others to improve their lives. Don't waste it on useless gossip; speak life, speak the truth, speak Christ. You must speak; you have the truth in you. Speak!
