God’s dependable, unchangeable, and reliable, and he’s a covenant-keeping God. What he promised, what he said, what he preordained shall and will come to pass. He keeps his covenant promises to a thousand generations no matter how long. The key to seeing, receiving, and obtaining God’s promised covenant is to love him and keep his commandments. What does that mean? It means obeying His Word, and when it comes to following God’s Word, it means doing what His Word says.
God’s covenant promises are contingent upon our obedience. Over and over, we see Scripture pointing to our obedience to his commands and reverence and fear for him. His covenant is from everlasting to everlasting, which means they are forever, and when does forever end? It’s forever; there’s no ending to it. Obeying God’s Word requires Faith!
We must trust and believe that what God says he will do and obey what he says so that we can see the promises of God fulfilled in our lives. I encourage us today to get back to what the command of God’s Word says and begin to obey his Word; that’s when he will fulfill his promises and covenant with us.
