Today’s Scripture:
John 11:10 NIV
It is when a person walks at night that they stumble, for they have no light.
Light is imperative. Our world would be in peril if we had no light. If the sun or the moon refused to shine, we would have a hard time surviving because our plant life would be impacted. Even us, our very lives would be stagnant because we need the sun to survive.
The sun is the closest star to Earth. Without it, we are dead. We would be in the dark. The sun is not optional; it is imperative. It radiates light and heat, or solar energy, which makes it possible for life to exist on Earth. Plants need sunlight to grow. Here's the thing: Animals, including humans, need plants for food and the oxygen they produce. Without heat from the sun, Earth would freeze.
Now, Jesus is the light of life in the spiritual sense. We cannot exist without this light, the light of Christ is not optional, it is invaluable, it is imperative, and essential. Without the light of life, we perish as dead people doomed for eternal separation from God. That is darkness.
Let's here what Paul the apostle said. He says, “They are darkened in their understanding and separated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them due to the hardening of their hearts." (Ephesians 4:18 NIV).
In other words, Paul validates that we are separated from the life of God without the light of Christ. Without the light we lack understanding He says having our understanding darkened. The reason we are not seeing the things that the word of God says should be taking place in our lives is because we have no light. We have no understanding, no illumination of light. So, we live meaningless and mediocre lives.
When we decide to live in darkness and not follow the light of life, we end up in poverty, sickness, and unfulfilled lives. We must turn from darkness to light, in other words, turn from death to life. When we walk in the dark, we stumble, we stagnate, we live an unfulfilled life, and we love beneath the best life that God has for us if we live and follow the light of life.
Follow the light of life, and you will live the life that God has planned for you—a life that reflects him, one of truth, prosperity, health, and fulfillment.
