Today’s Scripture:
Jeremiah 1:16 NIV
I will pronounce my judgments on my people because of their wickedness in forsaking me, in burning incense to other gods and in worshiping what their hands have made.
We worship what our hands have made; this is not just about idols but the pride of worship. We would rather worship what we have erected than the Lord, the maker of the heavens and the earth. That's the pride of worship. Our pride says I can, it says I did that, not God did it, not God can, not God is worthy, but I'm worthy because I built it. I did it.
This is what Satan did in heaven. He was puffed up. It was all about him; he became prideful, and he said look at me and what I can do. The Bible gives us a clear picture of his prideful ways. In Isaiah 14:12-14 NIV, and Ezekiel 28:17 NIV
Family, Pride only brings you down! Pride in worship, is selfishness, it's self-worship. This is not God worship which requires humility and sincerity. Satan was prideful, meaning he was full of pride, full of himself, saying see what I have built, what I have done. All the glory was taken from God toward himself. This is the pride of worship, God is not the center of this worship but self is.
Are you full of pride? Are you worshiping your money, your accomplishments, the things that you have achieved? It's time to check yourself and see where you are because our scripture is clear, God said I will pronounce judgement on my people. Family, when pride is present in your life, in your worship it's a sign that the Satan is present and at work in you. For the Bible says, he is the king over the children of pride (Job 41:34). God hates pride and selfishness. Let's get back to authentic worship, living a lifestyle of humility before God. Give him glory, honor, and thanks for all that we have accomplished.
