Description

God is unchanging. That's reassuring all by itself. Our God is unchanging; that's comforting and makes me secure. Not only am I secure and comforted by this Truth, but I am also grateful because it means that I will not be destroyed because of my sins, and let's be honest, there are many. God is such an amazing God that he waits for us, gives us chances, and loves us the same as if we didn't sin at all. His unchanging love keeps us and will forever hold us. Some people say they'll love you always, and one mistake and that love changes. But God's love remains the same. It never changes.

Why is that? Because God is love, and that's his very nature. And because he's unchanging, then he remains the same, and his love is not wavering or conditional or based on whether we sin or not because the Bible makes it straightforward for us that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us (Romans 5:8). He didn't wait for us to get it right. He made it right through his death on the cross (John 3:16). Here's how we must look at this family. If it were possible for God to change, he would destroy us. Could you let that sink in? If our God would change, none of us could stand. Thus, we must rejoice and be glad that our God does not change.

He's our unchangeable God. Now, I can appreciate the text that my God is unchanging; he doesn't change. He refuses to change not because he can't but because of who he is; he's the God of love. He loves us enough to remain unchanging so that we are not destroyed. That's love, and that's God. He will never change because his love for us will not change. Be blessed.
