Today’s Scripture:
2 Chronicles 15:2 NIV
He went out to meet Asa and said to him, “Listen to me, Asa and all Judah and Benjamin. The Lord is with you when you are with him. If you seek him, he will be found by you, but if you forsake him, he will forsake you.
In 2024, we stand with the Lord. Interestingly, the Scripture explicitly says, "The Lord is with you when you are with him." I mean, we know God is good; we know he loves us and is crazy about us. But there seems to be a line drawn in the sand concerning that care and love. God wants love back and to be with those who want to be with him. There is reciprocity where God's companionship is concerned. He doesn't want to be with those who
are uninterested in being with him.
I love this because it shows that we have a God who wants us to want him. He's not just throwing himself at us, regardless of our lifestyle. He wants us when we want him. How do we show God that we want him in 2024 so that he will be with us this year? One of the ways we show God that we want him, the text says, " is to delight in him.
Then, If you seek him, he will be found by you, but if you forsake him, he will forsake you." It doesn't get any clearer than this. In 2024, we must seek God, seek him with all our hearts, and we will find him. Here's the warning for 2024: do not forsake the Lord. I don't care how dark and brutal things get this year. Do not forsake the Lord. Why? Because if you reject the Lord, he will forsake you. The Lord's plans for us are that he will be with us and never leave or forsake us. That's it.
Let us stand with God in 2024 so that he will stand with us and for us. He will not abandon us if we are faithful to him.
