Jay Z Tried To Sign Lil Wayne For $175,000
$175,000?
Wayne knew his value and what he was worth back then.
$175,000 was damn near a slap in the face.
I doubt Jay-Z was trying to be disrespectful, but that’s a lowball offer.
Wayne wouldn’t got to his royalties and publishing faster.
But he also would’ve had a lot less money upfront.
Which would you rather do?
Sign for a smaller advance to get to the backend money faster?
Or
Sign a big advance and worry about the rest later?
