Lack of patience.
Lack of work ethic.
Lack of discipline.
Lack of execution
Patience - nothing is going to happen overnight. Or in a year. Or in 3 years. You have to mentally lock yourself into a 5 year marathon where you are running everyday but you’ll never win the race. Focus on improving a little bit everyday.
Work ethic - this isn’t a job where you show up and get credit. Activity isn’t productivity. You need to gain from every activity you do. Sitting around and freestyling doesn’t help you. Record it. Edit it. Analyze and see how you can make it a song. Put it out. Get paid. Rinse and repeat.
Discipline - would you work a part time job for 5 years and not get paid? Those that would, make it in rap. That’s what your rap career is. You ain’t going to see full time money for about 5 years. Are you still going to show up everyday?
Execution - all of the pre-planning is great. Brainstorming, masterminding, talking...blah blah blah. If you aren’t executing, it doesn’t matter. You need to complete a major step towards your career every, single day.
If you aren’t making it, it’s because you’re lacking in one of these areas.
Be honest with yourself.
