Age is just a number, right? Well so are the numbers that pop up on your scale! Getting weighed is one of the most uncomfortable things we do in our lives. Society has put so much pressure on that number - are you skinny, are you athletic, are you normal, are you overweight - there are so many variables that are relative to being a healthy, strong person.
Yes, from a medical perspective, studies show that weight is a contributing factor to heart disease, diabetes, arthritis, and some cancers, but what that number should be is very individualized - it's not a set point.
Weighing in on a regular basis is fine if you don't let it define you. However, most people put too much emphasis on that number. It can either put you in a tailspin or send you out dancing in the streets. BREAK UP with your SCALE...cold turkey!
Put it away, throw it out - create positive habits - move more, eat healthier foods, cut back on sweets and alcohol if necessary, get your rest, reduce stress, - these all will add up and you just might find your weight drops organically because you've changed your mindset over time.
