Phil emphasized the importance of authenticity and how it is more important than professionalism. He explained that podcasting can help people build trust with their audience, as it allows them to share their expertise, tips and tricks. Podcasting can also help people learn more about their ideal audience and how to best target them.   The conversation is about how podcasting can be used as a marketing tool. The speaker explains that by giving away knowledge and expertise for free, people will start to trust the brand, and they will become loyal to it. This trust is valuable and can lead to people booking calls with the brand. The speaker also mentions that it is a lot of work to create a podcast and that the proper equipment is needed.  In this conversation, the speaker explains the importance of having a clear call to action when podcasting. They explain that people don't understand the industry, and so they don't know how to support it. To make it easier to support, they should have one simple call to action that tells their listeners exactly what they should do. For example, they could tell their listeners to follow them on one specific social media platform. This way, the listeners can easily support them and the podcaster will have a way to market to them. The speaker also explains that a lot of big brands spend a lot of money on media but a lot of podcasters have had success with just using their iphone and being authentic. This generation looks for authenticity, and so they are more likely to support someone who is genuine rather than a brand that doesn't always follow through with their promises.
