Welcome to my first interview in the series of The Untangling podcast! I have had the pleasure of speaking
with a most amazing woman, with an equally amazing story, one of now living a most
wonderful life - against all odds.
Dragica ‘Debbie’ Radosavljevic is a coach/therapist and speaker, originally born in Bugojno, a
province in Bosnia, former Yugoslavia. From living through war in Bosnia in the
1990s, losing dear loved ones, fleeing to a refugee camp in Serbia and finally
gaining refugee status and coming to Australia in 1998 with her young child, unable
to speak English, Debbie has gone through more trauma than most of us will
in a lifetime. But what is most surprising about Debbie, is that over time
through her own strength, knowing and wisdom, she was able to come to a place
of forgiveness and rebuild her life, not letting her story and past define her.
She calls herself an 'agent of loving disruption' – because she understands that sometimes we need someone to be that
in our lives; to open our eyes to the truth, not let our past define us, so we can heal for ourselves and our loved ones around us. This is Debbie’s story.
