Do you know what a love offering is or what it means to be washed in the blood? Hosts Tamara and Charisse tackle the complicated subject of Christian jargon and pledge to weed out as much jargon as possible from their episodes.

Jargon is defined as special words or expressions that are used by a particular profession or group and are difficult for others to understand. Jargon also can be thought of as shoptalk.

Both Emunah hosts agreed that whenever believers and church leaders talk about Christ there should be a concerted effort to communicate in plain, simple English. In John 16:25, Jesus tells his disciples I have spoken these things to you in figures of speech. An hour is coming when I will no longer speak to you this way but will tell you plainly about the Father. Though I have been speaking figuratively, a time is coming when I will no longer use this kind of language but will tell you plainly about my Father.

Our goal at Emunah is to build a community of listeners who are seeking sound Bible-based teachings and thought-provoking discussions focused on developing a life with Jesus. Jargon needs to be weeded from a lot of habits and traditions in our churches and Christian-based groups today.
