Description

Minister Eugene Howie joins the host and co-host of Emunah to discuss the background and impetus for his first book, "The Awakening." He says if you follow the 29 days of devotions outlined in his book, you will be forced to reexamine your life and learn to approach each day differently.

Starting from Day One in the book, the reader is taught that although we have plans, we need to adjust our perspective to understand that there's a greater plan at work that has been put into place by God. Also during our 29-day journey that includes daily reading of scripture, meditating on its meaning and praying for wisdom and discernment, we begin to strip away old teachings and misguided ideas.

The Genesis or impetus behind the book comes from the story of David and Goliath in I Samuel 17.

"The moment you awaken by faith to who and what you are, any Goliath, the outcome is just a forgone conclusion. The book answers the question 'how do I awaken my giant'?'" Howie said.

Howie is a native Washingtonian, a licensed Minister for more than 10 years and a Sunday School teacher at the First Baptist Church of Glenarden International, Upper Marlboro, MD.

The book can be found on Amazon.

For further insight, check out the article Women of the Word published on the book on March 3, 2023:

"The Awakening" devotional book feeds the giant in each reader.

The reason for this book is there are so many people [who] go through life conscious in a physical sense but unconscious, going through life, in a spiritual sense, never awakening to who they are and who they were created to be. Thats the push behind this, says Minister Howie in the interview with WOW.

The popular, nail-biting biblical story of David and Goliath is not about a scrawny shepherd boy using a slingshot to hurl a carefully aimed rock into the forehead of a giant warrior. Not to Minister Eugene N. Howie anyway. (Read the article for yourself at https://wordconsultingllc.com)
