John 1:1–14 | The Word Made Flesh | The Light of Men
"‘In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with Elohim, and the Word was Elohim.’" Witness the descent of the Infinite into the finite in the prologue of Yohanan 1.
About This Reading In this episode, we sit with the first fourteen verses of the Besorah according to Yohanan. This narration utilizes The Scriptures 2009 (ISR) translation. In this reading, we honor the set-apart Names of our Creator and His Messiah, speaking 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) and YAHUSHA as the Spirit gives utterance.
These verses contain the foundational pillars of the faith:
The Eternal Word: The declaration that the Word (Miltha/Logos) existed before creation and was the instrument through which all things were made.
The Light vs. The Darkness: The introduction of the Light that the darkness cannot "overtake" or "comprehend."
The Witness: The role of Yohanan the Immerser, who was not the Light, but came to bear witness to it.
The Right to Become Children: The promise that those who receive Him and believe in His Name are given the authority to become children of Elohim.
The Tabernacle of Flesh: The climactic revelation that the Word became flesh and "pitched His tent" (tabernacled) among us, full of favor and truth.
We aim to decrease so that the weight of the Incarnation and the majesty of the Name may be the focus of your meditation.
Key Highlights:
Focus: The Pre-existence of Messiah, The Life that is the Light of Men, and the Glory of the Only-begotten.
Translation: The Scriptures 2009 (ISR).
Narration: Pure Scripture, no commentary.
How to Use This Episode: Listen to this passage when you need to be reminded of the "Big Picture." It is a cure for a small view of Messiah. Use verse 12 as a declaration of your identity: you are not just a follower; you have been given the authority to be a child of the Most High because of His Name.
