In Deuteronomy 9:11 Moses says " At the end of the forty days and forty nights, the Lord gave me the two stone tablets, the tablets of the covenant." He says these words while reminding Israel that it has not been through their merits that God has given them their inheritance as they have been rebellious since the beginning, when they left Egypt, but that God is always faithful to his promises.
Today God is asking you, are you ready to receive what I have prepared for you? What would you like to offer me? Moses goes up the mountain to speak to God and receive a message and a law for his people. This action of going up reveals a step towards a search. A search that is not sterile because God comes out to meet him every time. During this meeting Moses is conscious that Israel is not being faithful to God's promises and therefore decides to remain on the mountain for 40 days and 40 nights without eating or drinking as an offering of faith. God Glorifies himself through this offering since He does not only makes him survive the impossible but also at the end of the days He provides His law carved with his finger on the stone tablets. Let's see this number 40 as a period of preparation for a change. Today God also continues to be faithful to his alliance and wishes to glorify Himself through our lives. He wants that we show interest in His plans and only asks us to be willing to let Him work within us and to be open to His Grace.
May the Lord open our hearts to his eternal love 🙏💕🕊️
