Welcome to a new edition of the Neon Jazz interview series with Acclaimed Jazz Guitarist & Composer Kevin Brunkhorst. Speaking from his base in Canada, Kevin shares insights into his new 2025 CD, After the Fire, and his esteemed journey in music.
This new project features seven original compositions reflecting on recent global and personal challenges—yet filled with warmth and optimism. His musical path began when he saw the Beatles perform “Hey Jude” on the Ed Sullivan Show in 1970, leading to his first guitar that same Christmas. His influences span from the Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Yes, and Pink Floyd to Steely Dan, Genesis, Miles Davis, Weather Report, and Pat Metheny.
