Welcome to a new edition of the Neon Jazz interview series with Vancouver Up & Coming Jazz Artist Imogen Moon .. She had an incredible turn of events while putting together her first record. The Dap-Kings have jumped on as her backing band, Ian Hendrickson-Smith (The Roots) is producing, and she even got to record with Amy Winehouse's equipment. The music on the new album consists of new recordings and a re-imagining of her grandfather Doug Randle's 1971 album for CBC, entitled ’Songs for the New Industrial State’. It all started with Cory Weeds and Cellar Live .. and has built serious momentum .. Enjoy the story ..
