Clarkey and Ryan welcome back friend of the show, Jonny Lazarus, who does NHL content for BR Open Ice, and also calls college hockey games for NESN, back on to chat about a bunch of hot hockey topics.
First off, the guys get into the 4 Nations Face-Off rosters for Canada and the US, as Laz expresses his thoughts on the U.S. and some snubs on that side, as well as the current state of Canadian goaltending.
Following that, Laz gets into the recent issues with his New York Rangers, as the host of The Blue Crew Pod dives into GM Chris Drury publicly shopping Trouba and Kreider, and the recent play of Igor Shesterkin.
Finally, Laz also comments on the new agreement between the NCAA and CHL allowing CHL players to play college puck even after playing in junior north of the border, a decision that Laz says is controversial in the U.S.
To wrap, Ryan and Clarkey discuss ongoing Juan Soto rumours, and nominate Couch Potatoes of the Week, as Clarkey singles out Bryson DeChambeau and Ryan celebrates a wild save in the OHL.
