At the center of Christ’s birth story is a nightmare of magnanimous proportions — a genocide of innocent children at the hands of a power hungry dictator, causing the holy family to take refuge in another country. As we contemplate this ugly side of Christmas, do we identify with the Herods of the world, or the Prince of Peace?
