She is a leading voice in Latin media, and is currently the Deputy Director of Somos: Refinery29's. As a Boricua in Orlando, FL Raquel also has an educational nonprofit serving Puerto Ricans in the Central Florida area, and she has a project called “Herstoria” about Latin American women and gender-neutral Latine American persons. Lastly, Raquel also leads a monthly brunch for Latinas in media and technology in Central Florida, and is a mentor with the Latinas in Journalism Mentorship Program.
