In the late 1980s and early 1990s, the Jordan Rules were implemented in the NBA by the Detroit Pistons (Bad Boys) as a way to shut down Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls. This was an instrumental aspect of the rivalry between the Bad Boys and Jordan. The Jordan Rules was a style of defense that limited players, mainly Jordan from entering the paint to score. This act was usually carried out by future teammate Dennis Rodman and Bill Laimbeer. Despite the frustration that Jordan faced when playing the Bad Boys, he never backed down. Instead, he embraced the challenge and packed on 20lbs of muscle with the guidance of his trainer Tim Grover. Jordan would ultimately come back much stronger, beat the Detroit Pistons, and win a championship.
In this episode, Nate explains what we could learn and apply from Michael Jordan’s philosophy of getting stronger as a response to the Jordan Rules
