Chapter 15 - Honey Please
When Spunky was sure they were not followed he slowed down to a trot.
“Well done Spunky,” said Molly. “We three make a fantastic team.”
“Don’t forget the bees,” added Abby. “They were brilliant.”
“We need to pick up some honey,” said Molly.
“Honey? Why?” asked Abby.
“To defeat The Quillza,” answered Molly.
“Honey defeats The Quillza. How?” asked Abby.
“No idea,” answered Molly. “Hopefully Radar or Mama Owl will understand.”
Radar finally caught up.
“Oh Radar. You’re safe,” cried Abby, giving Radar a hug. “Thank you for saving me.”
“Hopefully Radar will understand what?” asked Radar.
“How honey defeats The Quillza,” answered Molly.
“I’ve never heard that before,” answered Radar. “Where did you hear that?”
“One of my guards said we cannot win because we don’t have any honey,” answered Molly.
“But the hive is in the wrong direction,” argued Abby. “And we are already late.”
“True, but the battle will be more successful if we have what we need to defeat them,” argued Molly.
“Better to be over-prepared than under-prepared,” said Radar. “We can ask the queen for some. It’s not that far out of the way. But we must go back and cross The Ridge Bridge.”
“No,” said Spunky. “Not safe. Won’t risk it. It’s too close to The Q.”
“But we need to cross the river. The Ridge Bridge is the only way, unless we return to the bridge near The Twin Rainbow Falls. And that is very far,” argued Radar.
“I will swim. Molls and Abbs ride. You fly.”
They were not far from the river shore. Spunky was determined to avoid The Ridge Bridge. He was not going to risk losing Molly and Abby again.
Spunky waded into the river.
“Molly, Abbs, hang on. Don’t let go,” said Spunky. “Bee, see you soon.”
Spunky started swimming. Bee flew along above Spunky so they didn’t get separated. The river’s current was strong and Spunky was pushed downriver, but he was able to cross. Molly and Abby slipped off Spunky’s back after he climbed out of the river. They needed a rest. It was very hard work to hang on while Spunky swam. Spunky needed a rest too. He had been on the move since Molly and Abby were snatched.
