Chapter 3 - An Adventure Begins
“Oh Molly, we must find Spunky,” cried Abby. “This is dreadful.”
“What’s dreadful, Abby?” asked Radar who happened by.
“Oh, Radar, can you help us please?” asked Abby.
“Certainly, I am at your service, always,” answered Radar, concerned.
“Can you ask the other bees if they have seen Spunky this morning?” asked Molly.
“He has run off,” added Abby in tears.
“Goodness, why would Spunky run off? He loves it here in the forest,” said Radar, his antenna sparked pinky-purple and sent the message.
“Oh hiya Sparkle,” called Molly with a tearful smile. “Thank you for the beautiful bubble button earrings. Have you seen Spunky this morning? He is missing.”
“No, I came by to see if you were back from your adventure with Mama Owl,” said Sparkle. “My, my, Spunky is missing?” Then Sparkle remembered Spunky’s bubble and its faint dream. “I’m sure he will be back. He loves it here in the forest and he would never leave you two.”
Just then Radar’s antenna flickered pinky-purple. An incoming message had arrived.
“Spunky has been seen sniffing around the tombstones near Mama Owl’s Ridge,” said Radar.
“Oh why would he go there Molly?” asked Abby. But Molly had already disappeared into the tall grass.
“Molly, wait,” cried Abby, running after Molly.
“Hey wait!” called Radar who followed close behind.
Smiling silently, now alone in the tall grass, Sparkle thought, “Spunky is chasing his dream, how wonderful.”

“Molly wait, we need to solutioneer,” called Abby, running as fast as she could. But Molly had a head start and was faster than Abby. When Radar caught up with Abby, Abby was crying, twirling her new bubble button earring.
“Oh Radar, I’ve lost her,” Abby cried. “She is too fast.”
Radar’s antenna flickered pinky-purple again.
“Molly is headed for the tombstones, and Spunky is sniffing around The Ancient Cemetery. Let’s keep going. Molly will need to rest soon.”
Holding back tears, Abby trotted along the path, Radar buzzing along beside her.
Suddenly Abby thought, “Follow the creek.”

“Just keep running. Just keep running,” Molly kept repeating to herself. “I can catch up. Just keep running.”
“Spunky, Oh, Spunky, please don't leave, we three are one. We three…” Molly stopped and started to cry. “We three… oh… we three…” But Molly was alone. “I shouldn't have darted off like that. Abby must be so worried. And now I think I‘m lost.”
Molly sat down, twirling her bubble button earring. “Okay, Molly, solutioneer,” Molly said to herself with a sniffle. “Spunky is sniffing around the tombstone which is near Mama Owl’s Ridge. The creek eventually follows along the ridge. I must follow the creek.”
Trotting along, Molly was very relieved when she saw the tombstone.
“Oh, I must be close,” Molly encouraged herself to keep going. Molly passed the tombstone and trotted down the path into The Ancient Cemetery. The headstones were cracked and covered in moss and the brambles were thick with spiderwebs, but some of them were broken.
“A trail of broken spider webs, I bet he went through there,” Molly guessed, twirling her bubble button earring. “I will follow the broken spider web trail.”
