Chapter One - An Attack
<<PING>> rang the bicycle bell. A bicycle basket sits high in an old crooked oak tree standing at the edge of the river. It’s an odd spot for a bicycle basket.

“Look Abby! Finally sunshine,” cheered Molly. “It’s been three days of rain, wind and thunder. I can’t wait to get outside and explore the forest now that spring has arrived.”
Molly climbed out of the bicycle basket, tapped the bicycle bell <<PING>> and leapt to the forest floor.
Excited to start the day, Molly loved to explore the forest. She pretended to be Lioness Molly, queen of the jungle. She loved to stalk and pounce and collect treasures, particularly buttons.
“Come on down Abby, it’s a beautiful morning-up,” Molly called.
Abby also rang the bicycle bell <<PING>> as she left the basket.
“More joy for the forest today!” Abby called cheerfully. An artist, Abby stayed close to home, drawing with a crayon and scrolls she found in the basket library.
Molly and Abby are small, orange tabby cats and identical twins. They moved into the bicycle basket after their home was lost in a fire in the valley. It was very sad. Many valley animals had to find new homes.
This was no ordinary bicycle basket. It was bigger on the inside and had lots of rooms. Molly’s favorite room was the library. Molly loved to read and the library had books on every topic you can think of. Abby’s favorite room was the art studio. It had everything an artist could want - finger paint, glitter and glue, crayons and lots of construction paper. Molly and Abby each had their own room for sleeping, but they always curled up together in the sitting room. It had super comfortable overstuffed chairs, perfect for snuggling.
