Ryan Williams did his own study where he ate nothing but Mc Donalds for 30 days straight to prove a point that you could lose weight while in a calorie deficit.
What they found was he did lose weight as main component that determines weight loss is calorie control.
Regardless of what you’re eating, restrict calories and you will lose weight..
Sounds simple right? So what is the argument?
Weight loss and Fat Loss are not the same thing
Let me explain.
What they found was that Ryan Williams did lose weight but he lost muscle and held onto fat.
How does this happen?
Protein is your body’s main building block. It helps you preserve muscle, when we don’t priorities protein and food quality we end up losing the wrong kind of weight (muscle being one).
Nobody wants to be skinny fat. This is why we need to look beyond the diet.
Calories are important but Protein should always be married with Calories and a calorie deficit to see success.
