Australia’s two-decade old 3G mobile phone network will be switched off on June 30.
Since announcing the closure of its 3G network almost five years ago, Telstra has seen a significant decline in 3G usage across the national network. While 3G accounts for just one per cent of total network traffic, Telstra is calling for customers to ensure they are prepared and now have an easy way to check the compatibility of their device.
Telstra has developed an SMS tool to check if their customers phones need to be updated when the network closes.
Joining David Braithwaite to talk about that and the 3G switch off is Mike Marom from Telstra.
