Eggs have cracked a new milestone with new research revealing that 18.9 million eggs are consumed in Australia every day.
The new data has been released to mark World Egg Day, an opportunity to celebrate the versatile and convenient humble egg with 13 essential vitamins and nutrients.
With one in three (35 per cent) Australians who typically cook dinner finding cooking a pressure-filled experience, it’s no wonder that the top three elements Australians prioritise when deciding what to cook dinner is (1) taste and flavour, (2) simplicity and time efficiency, and (3) nutrition. In fact, more than half (60 per cent) of Australians admit they are only willing to spend no more than 15 minutes cleaning up post-dinner, with one in four (26 per cent) only able to tolerate 10 minutes or less.
The research also uncovered that on average Australians have at least three meals on a weekly rotation. Generationally, Baby Boomers are the most likely to have a whopping seven meals on rotation.
Rowan McMonnies, managing director of Australian Eggs, was on Gippsland Perspective to talk about the research and World Egg Day.
