God had provided a way for His people to be near him, and gave very specific instructions on how to approach Him in the temple. Aaron, the brother of Moses, performed many of these sacrifices and rituals to enter God's temple, and did so without deviating from God's instructions. When two of Aaron's sons decided to enter the temple themselves, they did not follow all the steps required, and were punished severely. Lets look back to this story, and learn why such a harsh outcome, is a sign of true love.
