Description

There is an anecdotal account of an ancient king wanting a bath created for him and provided his hand span measurement as the measurement to be used. However the creator of the bath translated the king's hand span for his own smaller hand span, resulting in the bath being too small. This anecdote was for the purposes of indicating the need for universal measurements but actually for the purpose of today's message, it also indicates the caution not to assume equal interpretation by everyone. That final point alerts us again, further to recent warnings in these Daily Picture messages, to always test prophecy (i.e the supposed word of God to us) to ensure it is not false or that we are not interpreting it incorrectly. This is why I try to always provide an actual bible verse in these Daily Picture commentaries every day. "Near the end of His Sermon on the Mount, Jesus issued this stark warning to his listeners: 'Beware of the false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves". (Matthew 7:15).
