Today I saw a picture of a burr. Burrs are little spherical seeds or dried fruit which can cling persistently to fur or fabric because of their many tiny hooks. These burrs inspired a Swiss engineer into spending about ten years in developing the very useful and strong nylon fastener, with many small hooks, called velcro, which latches on and never spontaneously falls off. Nature has so much to teach and inspire us. Jesus loved to teach using references to nature, such as the sharing of His Word being like the scattering of seed which falls on varied ground, representing our different hearts which receive or not. As creator of our wondrous nature, God can also perform beyond nature with super(above) natural acts. God sometimes chooses to do this on earth and let us not forget that conquering death and moving on in eternal life is a supernatural act. We are told that in heaven "He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away (Revelation 21:4).
